Raising awareness
HSB's work with visually impaired people is extended through education and campaigning to raise awareness of the needs of visually impaired people:
- Working with colleges of Further Education to provide courses for visually impaired people, such as computer studies, braille, cookery and crafts.
- Awareness training for people who work or come into contact with visually impaired people.
- Campaigning to relevant bodies on a variety of issues so that
barriers
to the independence of visually impaired people are understood and removed.
